Stimulated now? Part Dou (2)

“Millions of workers can expect to see about $13 extra in their weekly paychecks, starting around June, from a new $400 tax credit to be doled out through the rest of the year. Couples would get up to $800. In 2010, the credit would be about $7.70 a week, if it is spread over the entire year.”

Well what are we going to do with an extra $13 then $7.70 per week in tax savings? Do you feel stimulated? Or, are you just going to see an extra x per week? I have a feeling that this is not really going to help this stimulate anything other than future debt for our next generations. I don’t understand this as a stimulous because it will not make much difference in the long run for the average American that is just squeking by from day to day.

No, I am not trying to be negative here. I just really wonder how this will help. Will it save a person from loosing their house? Most likely not. Will it pay for the next wave of gasoline price increases? Most likely not. I sadly feel that we will be right back where we were and now with a larger national debt. As I watch this bill being brought into law, I see my stock values going down (on average). How stimulating! How Invigorating!

Let’s get some of YOUR thoughts here in this!!!

  1. People and the government talk about the stimulous package given to the auto industries and to AIG. This total is what 1.7 trillion? If correct on the amount and correct on the total people in the united states of 3.3 million, then wouldnt it stimulate the economy more if each person got approx. 200,000 dollars each! Wouldnt that stimulate the economy? Wouldnt people pay off their houses instead of going into forecloser? Wouldnt people buy new cars? Wouldnt the banks love to get the money that they loaned out back? And with the new vehicle bought wouldnt they need insurance? I for 1 am tired of the government giving away the tax payers hard erned money to corporations that put themswelves into the predicement they are in and the government not helping the people in the country. Its suppose to be government by the people for the people!
