Oh now I understand why there has been such a huge media coverage of the dreaded swine flu better known as H1N1. It’s something that needs to be brought out about the VERY POOR and dare I say downright uncaring for our brave men and women of the Armed Forces that use the VA hospitals. This is the so called ‘dirty’ hospital information that was released during the broo-ha-ha of the swine flu. Here are some numbers that only a few will know about:
“…Nearly 11,000 former sailors, soldiers, airmen and Marines could have been exposed to infectious diseases because three VA hospitals in the Southeast did not properly clean endoscopic equipment between patients. On Friday, the VA revealed that another patient had tested positive for HIV, bringing the total to four such cases among patients who got endoscope procedures at hospitals in Miami, Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Augusta, Ga. …” This is being put so far back that it is hoped it is not realized by the American citizen.
Beyond this, “…The agency also said a new hepatitis case had been discovered, increasing the number of positive tests to 26. More than 4,270 veterans still have yet to get test results.” and this “…It hasn’t answered questions from The Associated Press about why problems with cleaning the equipment – and possibly co-mingling infectious body fluids – went on for five years at the Miami and Murfreesboro hospitals and about a year in Augusta. The VA also refuses to say if it found similar problems at its other 150 hospitals or if more patients should get blood tests. …” Continued with “…A 60-year-old Navy veteran who had a colonoscopy at a VA hospital last year got an unimaginable phone call recently – a blood test showed he had HIV. A second test by the VA was negative, and now, the Tennessee man doesn’t know what to think. …”
Why haven’t we been hearing about this? What kind of brave soldiers that would lay down their lives for OUR ideals and freedom does our government really think we have? This is so far beyond a cover-up in the making that I think there could be other things going on under the tide of this swine flu thing. I thought that the current Administration was so caring about our veterans. Or are they? Swine flu or not, this information should have much more coverage than it is getting and this is why I’m posting it here.
I really want to know your thoughts on this…Please comment.
